Chandimal back in Doha
'Chandimal and the Second Connection', a popular band will be in Doha Quatar during early part of the month of October.

This is the fifth time Chandimal and the boys performing in Doha.

The band will be in attendance for SriLankan Airline 'Travel Nite' and Agents awards nite' which will be held on October 10 and 11 at Soditel Doha Palace Hotel.

The entire tour is being sponsored by Sri Lankan Airlines and arranged by Chanaka Gagama country manager Doha and Baharain for Sri Lankan Airlines.

Also Chandimal and the 2nd Connection is going to have their fifth concert at BMICH on November in aid of Army Sevra Vanitha Unit.

Band has already done unusual a Christmas CD and a casette with Christmas songs and will be released on the day of their concert.

This is Chandimal's first, Christmas CD and the band to a 'sing-along' concert too on November 30 at Bishops College auditorium.

Bangalore's Kingfisher fashion at Hilton
'The Bad Boy' of the fashion circle in Bangalore known to some, is ready to unabashedly focus Sri Lankan attention to his collection that will be modeled by Indian Models on October 15 at the Grand Ballroom, Hilton Colombo.

Manoviraj Khosla a veteran in the fashion industry, whose dream was to become a fashion guru is now a complete reality. His line known as the "Kingfisher" designs are mature and shows his evolution from a funky to a thinking designer.

His collection aimed to anyone between l7-60 years of age, and a wearable line for men and women who are very sporty.

The show is in aid of Charity and their HOPE Cancer Project and a luncheon exclusively for the Lady Hilton Club and a public show will be in the agenda. Tickets priced at Rs.1800/-nett for Lady Hilton luncheon which includes a sit down lunch, Public Show in the evening priced at Rs. 1200/-nett.

'October Breeze' at Cassablanca
'October Breeze 2002', a dance and a fashion show organised by Cassablanca Chinese Restaurant in Kottawa will come alive on October 12.

Popular DJ. Timmy will be in action at this special dinner dance and the fashion show by popular models will be the main feature of the nights.

The models would be from BMS Modelling School, which is a professional institute managed by Dr. Brian Samarasinghe. There would be a total of 20 models (both males & females). The rehearsals would be held on two dates before the event at a hotel down South.

The tickets are priced at Rs. 750/- per head.


Merril on' Star Parade'
Merril Fernando the lead singer of the 4 - part harmony group 'Amigos Romanticas' will be featured on "Sri Lanka Star Parade" broadcast through the airwaves of SLBC on Saturday October 6 at 1.00 p.m.

This programme, which has gained much popularity in the musical scene is produced by Nalin de Silva and presented by Bevil Palihawadana.

'Amigos Romanticas', jointly led by Bernadine Fernando and Merril Fernando had the privilege of being auditioned in 1969 for classical and light music by the SLBC and placed on Grade 'A'.

They sang Spanish, English and Sinhala songs. Their first EP record produced in 1969 included the famous 'Ruwan Ambara',' Kurulu Magula', 'Ran Ethana' and 'Poruthotay Mudali'.
