  • Unforgettable memories...

One day we met as strangers
We talked and laughed with each other
But we didn't think we would begin to
    Care about one another.

    We spent our time happily
    Filled with laughter and joy
    Sometimes we quarrelled
But we never forgot we were friends.

    One family full of love
    Care, kindness and joy
We were so happy but we never thought
That the day to depart was drawing so near.

Today I don't hear those noisy voices
    Or see those smiling faces
    Here I am all alone
Looking back at the times of cheer....

This family is a big one indeed
With all my fifty three pals
We shared so much in two years time
    That we never felt alone....

Life is the place where we meet and depart
So, we have to accept it and face the other part
My dear friends, listen to what I say
I want to thank you all before I step away...

    Conserve electricity

"Power Cuts, not again!" - familiar words these days. The streets are dark at night and it looks like the whole town is alseep. Remember the time when candles and lamps were restricted to rural areas? They are a common sight in the city today.

This is a change people don't want. People are suffering because of this power crisis. People are comfortable with electricity but without it they are severely affected. People only know that the power crisis is due to less rainfall.

But what people don't realise is that they are suffering as a result of their own actions. People wasted a lot of electricity during the past; the street lamps were on during the day time, fans, bulbs and other electrical equipment worked without a rest. We wasted a lot of energy. And now we blame the authorities for these power cuts. People are suffering because of the consequences of unscrupulous power consumption.

If you want to prevent further power cuts in the future, start conserving electricity. Begin at home. Start now.

    Chew with care

I was eating a burger with my friends and their boy friends. Just as I took a big bite, my friend's boyfriend asked me a question. I quickly chewed and swallowed and turned to answer him but when I opened my mouth to speak a chunk of food flew out and landed on his nose!

I was mortified, but I pretended I hadn't noticed it. All my friends started to giggle and in a few minutes everyone at the cafe was laughing hysterically. My best friend was embarrassed and avoided looking at me. I turned a beetroot red and didn't know what to do. I wondered 'Why me Lord!'

Since then, believe me or not, I take little bites of whatever I eat and become ever ready to answer any questions levelled at me at any time. So guys and girls out there, be very careful when you eat!

    Pen your thoughts

We all have many thoughts. And if no one listens to us, they become very hard to bear. At times we meet people who want us to listen to them but who are not ready to listen to us. This makes us look within ourselves for comfort and we often speak to an imaginary friend or to ourselves. Every human being has thoughts of loneliness. But instead of sighing and grieving we can do something about our situation. We can pen our thoughts - that will enable us to share them it with others.

    A true treasure

There are many beautiful things in life which we don't recognize or appreciate. Sometimes these become a blessing to us in our lives. Friendship is something really beautiful which most of us tend to take for 'granted'. It is very rare to find a 'true friend' who will come to you when the whole world has walked out on you, leaving you stranded. It's amazing when you have a true friend, whom you can depend on and go to for help at ay time.

A true friend is always by your side like a shadow and wouldn't leave your side for anything. A true friend is someone who understands what you really want and need. And she/he wouldn't force you into speaking what's on your mind either. With a true friend around, you don't need to pretend or lie. A true friend is selfless and special, she/he knows how to do things with such enthusiasm that encourages you to live. She/he would always participate in your wild crazy schemes and would pitch into help and make your life so much more fun.

Sadly though, most of us don't pay much attention to our friendships, but if you think about it, a true friend can be life's most beautiful gift which should be cherished for eternity!
