Hosts EGL claim inaugural Eagles Quadrangle Championship
The inaugural Eagles Quadrangle Championship saw hosts Eagle Golf Links as the first winner of the event which was worked off at the Eagle Golf Link Course in China Bay, Trincomalee yesterday. Teams from Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), Victoria Golf Resort (VGR), Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) and Eagles Golf Link (EGL) participated at this event which saw 60 golfers taking part for the four teams. This will be a board event going forward.
The Nearest to the PIN Gents was won by Michael Sathasivam of NEGC, who continued his sparkling form from the Hill Country event two weeks ago. In the Longest Drive Prabath Gamage of RCGC won the event while Dhanushi Senadheera of EGL won the Ladies event.
Overall Best Score for Gents was won by Tharindu Wickremasinghe of VGR while Manori Jayakody of NEGC won the Ladies event. Winners, Eagle Golf Link obtained 264 points while runners-up RCGC received 254 points followed by VGR coming in at third with 253 points. NEGC was placed fourth with 238 points.
