Sujith appointed as SLR’s UAE representative

Former Lumbini College captain and Havelocks player, Kelum Sujith, who is based in the middle east has been appointed as the United Arab Emirates Representative of Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR), for the period of 2022-24. Sujith’s appointment was sanctioned by the SLR Council.

The former Sri Lanka Youth squad member has been an integral part of Sri Lanka Lions, a rugby club formed by Sri Lankan expatriates based in the UAE. He also is a IRB Level I and II qualified referee, and has been involved with the famous Dubai Rugby 7s as a match official since 2008, in addition of being a World Rugby qualified match referee and TMO since 2019. Sujith has been involved in many tournaments and rugby tests, including the Dubai 7s, Amsterdam 7s, Rugby 7s World Cup held in Dubai and as match referee in the South Africa vs Kazakhstan test match on 2010.
