“A school is to be established on a 12-acre land at Kundasale to fulfill the need for a school in the Central Province.” Central Province Governor Lalith U Gamage made these remarks at the opening of a primary school attached to Hemamali Balika College away from the Kandy City centre.
The Governor added that a decision was made to have the primary school away from the City to give the children a better atmosphere for their activities.
He said that children should be close to the environment and that was one of the reasons that this primary school was established on land away from the city.
Additional Principal Ven Boomeriya Rahula, Principal MsYhusari Jayaratne and other officials were present on the occasion.
The invitees including the tutors of the school.
