When the Enemy Attacks You from All Ends
View(s):A beautiful house that belongs to a friend of mine who is living in Australia was completely burnt down, he lost all that he earned during his entire life. Worsening the situation further the disastrous damage had taken place during a time that he had disregarded renewing the insurance policy that he had been renewing annually for many years. Adding more fuel to the burning fire, his wife who was with him for the last twenty five (25) years isolated him in the dark, at a time he needed his loved ones the most.
As he did not possess an income to take care of the children, his wife took them with her. The only source of consoling he was left with was pulled out as well. Since he was running a printing business that was carried out in his house, the business was also burnt down. His only source of income was shut down. I do not know if many of us could even relate to such a burning situation, where you are surrounded by multiple problems from all ends of life, you would certainly feel like there is no way out and giving up seems to be the final resort.
Last week we gathered that we are about to undergo a 50% loss of our income this month, as many of our businesses are not operating as earlier due to the prevailing economic crisis. Whilst we were absorbing this challenge, our two children caught a viral flu and as parents, it was unbearable to see them suffer. Even before they were cured, I caught the same virus. While we were encompassed by these sudden attacks, I got a severe backache and The Dr. advised me to bed read. Amidst all these multiple attacks, I could barely walk to my desk, yet I thought I should encourage my readers with the topic ‘When the Enemy attacks you from all ends’. As I believe, many of you are facing life’s battles at this moment of time due to this disastrous economic crisis.
Sometimes, you may feel that this burden is too heavy. Yet, there is one thing you must constantly recall in your mind just as you wake up in the morning, lay your head on the pillow at night and every now and then “are you going to give up on the original purpose of your existence?”. Every time I walk slowly in pain due to my back ache and other issues that surround me, I make it an important point to remind myself the purpose of living in this world, so that I can encourage myself to make sure I fight hard until the last moment.
Do not allow problems to take a stronghold in your mind, instead let your vision take a stronghold. If you add only salt to your orange juice, it will certainly taste salty but if you decide to add some sugar into it, it will become a tasty and consumable juice. You are what you add into yourself. Similar to a magnet that attracts metal, it is natural for you to attract negativity and thoughts of giving up during a rough patch. What really happens is, the moment you start contemplating your trials over and over again, it nourishes fear and doubt in the grounds of your mind. Both fear and doubt are extremely detrimental negative forces that rapidly attract similar negative forces such as worry, stress, giving up, isolation and anxiety where the last visible option becomes suicide.
Giving up is the most selfish thought one could ever have, it takes into consideration only you and you alone throughout the entire evaluation process, not considering the others to live. If you bring a puppy to your home, it is your responsibility to take care of it till it dies. If you do not fight for your family it can make you look less than an animal, as even animals fight on behalf of their loved ones. I have seen innocent animals fighting against ferocious tigers to protect their young ones. If that is the case with animals then how strongly should we fight for our children as human parents? Always keep in mind the purpose of your life even when the enemy attacks you from all ends.
Pressure has its own life span, if you pressure the pressure then it is bound to flee from you as it will understand that you are a powerful conqueror. Recently, while I was at a particular location with my extremely beautiful wife, a gang of drunkards tried to provoke us into a fight. My wife was being very mature and calm before such a battle that she just kept their attempts ignored. After trying everything possible they just gave up as we didn’t feed into their foolishness. I did not even attempt to talk to them as pigs do not understand the value of pearls. Problems in life are also similar to them, their time of existence is purely based on how you approach them.
If you decide to feed your problems continuously, they will always remain near and dear to you. If you decide to shut your doors and vehemently reject them, then they will have no other option but to flee away. Just as the bogus beggars you see at the colour lights, who keep knocking on your window hoping that you would lose your focus and get trapped to their deceptive scheme, the negative forces will last until the final arrow hits you to see if you would give them a chance. Therefore, it is your decision to be thankful for what you are blessed with so far than focusing only on the current calamity that you are experiencing.
Amidst all the challenges I am facing with a backache I decided to be thankful for what I have been blessed with so far. I thanked my wife for the sleepless nights she spent with us, I am thankful for the three meals we still have on our table, I am thankful for the two adorable children I have and if you are not married be thankful for that as well. Once I told one of my relatives to be thankful for being single as marriages are not for everyone and being single is sometimes more peaceful than suffering in a wrong marriage. There are a countless number of reasons to be cheerful and joyful in life even amidst challenges.
Just as I have enlightened you through my articles on many occasions, challenges will always exist until your last breath. I am writing this chapter with a clear and honest conscience. As I was pondering on a topic to write I found that there could be no better topic than this as I myself is victoriously going through a series of challenges. We need a generation that walk their talk.
Another area that you must concentrate on when you are attacked from all around you is to make sure you do not pass down your burden to your loved ones, many who go through turbulent times try to put the blame on their spouse. We should never opt for this cowardly act as we all have specific roles in life and we should carry them comprehensively rather than sharing the responsibility with our spouse. That will become an additional weight on their shoulders, as they already have to deal with the responsibilities they are originally specified.
With a severe pain in my back and other challenges I looked into my wife’s eyes and told her that I am the most blessed man on earth to be loved by her and I am truly blessed as I do not deserve so much. I told her that me and my children are ever so grateful for all the hard work she does for us. A spirit of gratefulness and a thankful heart will certainly extinguish the approaching flames around you. Yet, a regretting mind and a fearful heart will certainly attract those flames and consume and burn it down.
Exhibit what you are made out of to your children so that whenever they face a challenge in life, they know exactly the victorious strategy that is necessary for the battle. I told my son Joshua that I am going to conquer all these challenges victoriously as I am well equipped with all I need. Therefore, when the enemy attempts to attack you from all corners, it is a must that you remain quiet, focused and attached to your purpose of life because a branch that is attached to the tree is sure to bear fruit. If the branch is cut down it will never bear any fruit.
