Nurturing Leadership Skills in a Challenging Era: NCHS Student Council 2022/ 2023
View(s):While the country faces a turbulent period, it is more essential now than ever that students develop their leadership skills and soft skills, enabling them to excel globally.
At the Nawaloka College of Higher Studies(NCHS) students are guided to become both ‘book smart and street smart’. While prioritising their academic journey, they are also given ample opportunities to engage in extra curriculum activities that help them become well rounded students, ready for the world of work upon graduation.
Joining the student council provides such an opportunity to students. Students will be able to develop their leadership, team building and other such skills, while adding an extra accolade to their curriculum vitae!

Student Council 2022/ 2023
The Nawaloka College Student council takes lead in spearheading student activities and events, imperative to enhancing the college experience of all the students. The council members are empowered to initiate and organise events, while being mentored by the academic and administrative staff of NCHS. Through this experience, they are encouraged to maximise on their role as youth leaders and decision makers.
The student council 2022/2023 was recently appointed and a new batch of outstanding students took over the helms of student life at the college.
Looking forward to an exciting year
The newly appointed council expressed their excitement to take on the challenge of being at the helm of the student council. They stated that while they understand the challenges during this period, they understand that it will be a great learning experience. “Being a part of the student council will be a new experience for all the members. We look forward to an exciting year ahead, and have already discussed some fun activities.”
The newly appointed council added that they are looking forward to organising the Avurudu festival as the inaugural event of the council. “We have many items lined up, and know that the student body will have an event that is definitely memorable!” the enthusiastic leadership stated. They added other events such as sports, e-sports, and inter university events are in discussion.
