Currently, Sri Lanka is in a stage that is unable to satisfy the predicted demand for data scientists due to a shortage of qualified graduates with a Data Science background. However, the National Export Strategy (NES) Advisory Committee on ICT/BPM expects 5,000 data scientists in the next five years, allowing Sri Lanka to stay ahead of the competition.
