ACCHS understands that there may be times when learners require assistance with language and literacy related top study, and/or personal issues may affect their ability to undertake training. ACCHS has identified a number of support services for learners who have special needs, or require additional support and assistance to undertake or complete their learning. Individual learning support plans are negotiated with learners who indicate a need for learning support.

ACCHS now invite Srilankan students to apply for CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support followed by CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services (Case Management). Course duration will be 2-years and will begin in April 2022. Student also has the option of enrolling for 2-years Diploma in Community Service (Case Management) course if they desire.

CHC 43015 CERTIFICATE IV IN AGEING SUPPORT (CRICOS 0101158) is designed for international students seeking to work in the Aged Care sector. This qualification addresses work primarily in residential facilities, or homes within defined organisation guidelines and service plans. During the course students will learn to carry out activities related to maintaining an individual’s wellbeing through personal care and other activities of good living. Students will also learn to provide services to individuals with complex needs, and work with groups of older people.

CHC 52015 DIPLOMA OF COMMUNITY SERVICE (CASE MANAGEMENT) CRICOS 0101157 reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred service to individuals, groups and communities. At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management; program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.

Eligibility: Sri Lankan or London AL (Australian Year-12 equivalent) , and IELTS 5.5 overall with no band less than 5.0.

n Mode of Delivery: Face to face on campus for 20 hours per week, 10 hours per week self-study and a 120 hour structured work placement per course.

n Assessment Method: Written Knowledge Assessments, Projects, Case Studies, Practical Demonstrations and Assessor Observations.

n Workplace Assessment: Assessment during the student’s work placement includes – observation by the assessor, student completion of workplace logbook and completion of third-party supervisor reports.

Successful completion of these courses can lead to a range of career opportunities that are both challenging and rewarding including:

n In the Aged Care space: Aged Care Worker/Assistant, Home Care Assistant, Personal Care Attendant, Residential Care Worker, Community Care Worker, Care Team Leader/Supervisor, etc.

n In the Community Service space: Community Service Officer, Group Facilitator/Programme Coordinator, Support Facilitator, Welfare Worker, Client Service Assessor, Case Manager, Children’s Service Worker, Service Manager, etc.
