Teachers have continued to demand for a revision of their salary anomalies, through a series of protests organised across the country.

A Ceylon Teachers Union (CTU) spokesperson said the next protest by the education unions will be held in Galle town on April 29.

Last month a protest was held in Badulla, and teachers demanded the current government officials to review their salaries.

The unions have been continuously requesting the government to grant the promised revisions salary anomalies, which have been delayed for several years.

Successive governments have postponed the decision to grant the revisions which are estimated to  cost the State an additional sum of Rs. 54 billion annually.
