Rotary support GoSL in the vaccination drive

Rotary Sri Lanka supported the Government of Sri Lanka with IT data entry in selected vaccination centers in Colombo and Gampaha areas for the over 60 age group which was a unique partnership.

The uniqueness is that way back in April last year Rotary launched a structured ‘ Awareness campaign’ on the new normal behaviour required initially with 7 athletes recommended by National Olympic Committee( NOC) and there after via Interactors reached almost 23% of the households with a sports ambassadorial campaign with almost 280 South Asian and Commonwealth Medallion.

The learning globally is that ‘ behavior modulation’ is key to stopping  the sorest said the Youth Affairs Head of Rotary Sri Lanka & Maldives Dr Rohantha Athukorala who is the Project Director for Stop the Spread project which involves over 15,000 people accross the country.

‘ Even after the vaccination Programme the communication Programme holds ground in a country he said.

On a separate project the idea of the ‘ Covid-19 control environment certification’ Rotary partnered Sri Lanka Standard Institute that is driving the project accross the country. My sincere thanks to the strong leadership of SLSI with the Chairman Mr. Nushad Perera who is personally driving the project with the Director General/ CEO Dr Siddhika Senarate said Rotary in a communique.
