NOC provides nutrition hampers to needy athletes

Under the auspices of International Olympic Committee – Olympic Solidarity, the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC) Athletes’ Commission assisted athletes who were affected due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Those athletes recommended by their respective National Federations (NF) and Athletes’ Commission, who are in the low-income group due to COVID-19 were considered under this project and assisted them for their daily needs, training and nutrition for next two months. Over one hundred athletes benefited through this project.

The distribution of vouchers to the athletes through the respective NFs was done on September 30 at the Olympic House.

Meanwhile the Athletes’ Commission also launched a programme to conduct virtual Basic English course for athletes.

It will comprise teams of 33 athletes divided into three groups. Accordingly, there will be three sessions per week and two hours per session. The course is scheduled to last two months.
