Jaffna Food Fest at the MLH with ‘My Sister’s Kitchen’

The Jaffna Food Festival presented by Mount Lavinia Hotel in association with Thushara and Danu Innasithmby came to a jubilant end on 26th January at the Imperial Room. The festival went on for four days from 23rd to 26th January with hundreds of Jaffna food lovers gracing the event to taste this unique fare.

With a massive spread of 60 items that included all-time favourites and live-action stations serving varieties of Dosai, Pittu, Hoppers and fried finger food, no dish went amiss.  An entire section of desserts inspired by quintessential Jaffna food, innovative cocktails and mocktails also became popular hits. Thushara Innasithamby from ‘My Sister’s Kitchen’ was the culinary mastermind behind the event.

She curated a full Jaffna ‘Virundu’ as called in Tamil, with family-based recipes that she imbibed from her mother’s kitchen. Hailing from Jaffna herself, she maintains authenticity to the strongest degree in her cooking.

The entire ambience at the Mount Lavinia Hotel transformed into a tiny land of Jaffna and offered the most authentic taste of the country’s North to its patrons.
