“Navarathri” celebrations at the College of Chemical Sciences of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon

Students of the College of Chemical Sciences of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon celebrated the “Navarathri” on Friday December 6th at the auditorium at 5.30 PM. Chief Guest on this occasion was Prof.V.Sivalogathasan, Dean Faculty of Management Studies, The Open University of Sri Lanka.

Navarathri pooja was conducted by Sivasri Mangaleswara Kurukkal. Traditional oil lamp was lighted by chief guest, academics and council members.

Students sang Bajan songs, followed by a dance performance by level 3 students. Songs performed by level 2 and 3 students added color to the event.

Chief Guest Prof. Sivalogathasan addressed the gathering. Dean of the College of Chemical Sciences Prof. Sagarika Ekanayake added few valuable words encouraging the students about the importance of such occasions.  At the end prasadam was distributed to all and the function was terminated at 7.15 PM
