The winning team with the trophies
Lyceum International School, Gampaha came out with flying colours at the International Schools Team Table Tennis Championship held recently. The youngsters of the Gampaha School won the Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16 championships.
This is the first time that an international school clinched three Table Tennis championships. The Under-12 and Under-14 matches were played at Gateway College tables, Rajagiriya while the Under-16 tournament matches were played at S. Thomas’ College Indoor Stadium tables.
In a tournament participated by all the best international schools in the island Lyceum Intl’ School, Gampaha showed their prowess by winning all Best Player awards in three age groups. The table tennis teams at Lyceum Intl’ School is coached by former national player and top player Lalith Perera. – LR
