Ananda Colllege despite dominating proceedings against St. Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa had to be satisfied with a first innings win in the Under-19 Inter-School Cricket encounter concluded at Ananda Mawatha yesterday. The second day’s play saw St. Joseph Vaz, in reply to the home team’s score of 281, being bowled out for 167.They resumed the day on 70 for 5. The Vazians, who were made to follow on with a deficit of 114 runs, fared better to end the day on 180 for 7 to deny the Anandians a victory.

Richmond recorded a first innings win against Royal Colombo at Galle while a match bag of 10 for 27 by left-arm spinner Ruchira Gunatunga paved the way for Kalutara MV to coast to an innings and 57 run win over Royal Panadura at Kalutara. Lyceum IS Nugegoda was in command against Sri Chandrajothi MV Yakkala at the end of the first day’s play at Yakkala.
