Achini Ratnasiri won a Double Crown at the Sri Lanka Open Badminton Championship 2019, organised by the Nationalised Badminton Association, which concluded at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium courts recently.

Over 1,200 Men, Women and Schoolchildren participated in the championship, which had over Rs. 500,000 disbursed among the winners.

Achini won the Open Women’s Singles event with a 2-0 win over Kavindika De Silva and went on to win the Women’s Doubles 2-0, partnering Upuli Samanthika.

In the Open Men’s event, Lochana De Silva defeated Maduka Dulanjana 2-0 to
win the championship, and the youngster went on to win
the Boys’ Under-19 Singles
and Doubles events to win a Triple Crown.
