‘Blossoms of Hope’, the annual Ikebana exhibition by the Ikebana International Sri Lanka Chapter 262 will be held on September 21 and 22 at the Ramada Hotel (former Holiday Inn). There will also be a demonstation of Ikebana arrangements at 5 p.m. on Sunday 22nd by Master demonstrator Christopher Lim(RIJI) of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana.

Ikebana International was formed in the early 20th century in Japan and other countries were encouraged to form their own clubs under its patronage, to develop this beautiful art of flower arranging. The Sri Lanka Chapter has 38 active members and celebrated its 10th anniversary last year.

Exhibitions are conducted yearly and from the proceeds, medical equipment and drugs have been donated to children with cancer at the Maharagama Children’s Ward, Karapitiya and Jaffna Hospitals to name a few.
