Caboo app offers range of benefits to exporters and new taxi services

A Sri Lankan entity – Caboo Holdings Ltd – has entered new vistas in the country’s development activities, providing opportunities to all Sri Lankans to buy, sell and export their products locally and internationally, in addition to launching a new e-commerce taxi service – Caboo Taxi.

The launch took place this week at the Hilton Residencies, Colombo and Veranga Vithanaarachchi, its Chairman, told the Business Times that with an investment of US$600,000, this newest multi-faceted business venture – one of the first of its kind in Sri Lanka – would involve in a series of services such as Caboo Taste, Caboo Delivery, Caboo Mall and Caboo Taxi through the Caboo World App.

Despite the fact that there are more than 40 odd e-taxi services available in the country, Mr. Vithanaarachchi said they believe in a healthy vibrant competition that would offer the best services to the consumer and all their stakeholders. The service, he said, offers the best solution for comfortable travel and their app is unique and sophisticated with travel, lifestyle, food and utility services in a one-stop-shop scenario to the customers.

He said: “When you say taxi services, yes, it is only one aspect that forms the bigger aspect of this particular platform and with this necessity component we put out an unmatchable product, with much more better features than what is existing in the market. You know that being in the competition is very good and we need to come and bring in new features.”

The whole gamut of services, he said, while to be part of that happy and healthy competition that plays a vibrant part to grow the market, will give lot of benefits to the consumer, lot of jobs to the people. He said that they would allow the customer to be happy, free and feel comfortable while maintaining a wide range of a branch network and 24-hour operative call centres. “We have a data centre from which we will track all changes and all that is going to take place in our travel”.

Caboo Taxi has 100,000 drivers spread over the country available at any time of the day with quality and safety ensured. Its approach would revolutionise the e-commerce space in the country.

Local entrepreneurs are assured help with packaging, branding, marketing and selling their products to the international market. Sri Lanka as an exporting country should make sure that the entrepreneurs are export ready and be available to seize the opportunities through the US-China trade war.

Caboo World App and Mall App enable Sri Lankan manufacturers to sell their products to markets across Europe, the US, Australia, Nepal, Dubai and the Gulf Region.
