PC polls definitely before presidential, says President
View(s):President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday declared that Provincial Council elections will definitely be held before the Presidential election.
Speaking at a public rally coinciding with the reorganisation programme of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), the President said the impediments to holding Provincial Council elections will be removed soon.
He said though some people had prediced that the presidential election would be held first, no one could force him to do so. “It is only I who can decide when elections should be held,” he added.
