Visakha Vidyalaya Bambalapitiya continued their dominance in the schools hockey arena to clinch the ‘Golden star ‘ award for the fourth consecutive year at the 18th Sri Lanka schools junior hockey carnival 2018 for boys and girls U/14 concluded at the Vincent Dias stadium in Badulla.

Competing in girls ‘A’ group, Vishakians beat Uva College Badulla 7 – 0 and then drew with Seetha Devi girls Kandy nil all. They received walk over from other two matches against the two schools from Galle, Southland College and Sri Sangamitta girls’ College Galle.

The girls segment of this three day junior hockey carnival conducted by SLSHA saw 25 girls teams across the island taking part in five groups. The team was coached by Anurudha Herath Bandara.
