Many birds in flight and in different landscapes will be presented by Skanda de Saram under the title, ‘A collection of bird and animal photographs’ at the monthly meeting of the Sri Lanka Natural History Society tomorrow (August 20) at 5.30 p.m. at the Maths Department Auditorium of the Colombo University Main Building (upstairs).

Skanda’s photographs of bats in Sri Lanka piqued the interest of world renowned authority on bats, Brock Fenton, and one photograph has been included in Brock’s recent book, ‘Bats — A World of Science and Mystery’ co-authored with Nancy Simmons.

This is while some of Skanda’s photographs also appear in ‘Mammals of Sri Lanka’ by Asoka Yapa and Gamini Ratnavira.

All are welcome.
