‘Three Lions’ England World Cup song races up the charts

The England football team was tossed out of the World Cup at the semi- finals when they lost to Croatia, but fans gave them a goal by taking the song ‘3 Lions’ to the No: 1 spot on the UK singles chart. ‘3 Lions’ by the comedians David Baddiel, Frank Skinner and the pop group Lightning Seeds raced up the chart from 24 to the No: 1 position with combined sales of 80,000, 6.8 million audio streams and 5.2 million video streams. The song achieved something huge that Harry Kane and his team failed to deliver for English football fans. ‘3 Lions’ with is subtitle ‘Football’s Coming Home’ also set a record for it reached the top of the UK singles chart for a third time. Released first as official song for England team’s campaign for the European Championships in 1996, it topped the chart then. In 1998 it was used for World Cup and topped the chart for a second time, and 22 years later has topped the chart for a third time. ‘3 Lions’ has been on the UK top 10 on two other occasions – 2006 peaking at No: 9 and in 2010 peaking at No: 10. The hit song is written by Baddiel and Skinner.

Drake’s single ‘In My Feelings’ debuted on the UK chart at No: 4. it’s the fifth single to be released from his new album ‘Scorpion’ and the fourth to debut inside the top 10. The bounce rap track features uncredited vocals by the City Girls. The song is the subject of a new craze and could help the song to a new height.

Jonas Blue saw his new release ‘Rise’ surfaced on the UK top 10 at No: 7 as song moved up the chart from 11. The local DJ / producer ‘Rise’ is the fourth top 10 and this time features the vocals of the US pop rap duo Jack & Jack. It was released in May and has taken seven weeks to arrive at its current chart position, growing slowly and surely.

Paul Simon who is on a farewell tour is planning to release an album of reworked songs called ‘In The Blue Light’ which will be released on September 7. The 76 year old legend will Homeward Bound – The Farewell tour in a grand finale on 22nd September in Queens, New York.

Pop singer Jess Glynne has been warned by her doctors that she should avoid further surgery to her vocal chords as she would risk losing her voice for good. Reports from the UK say the ‘I’ll Be There’ hitmaker has already had surgery to her surgery to repair her vocal chords in 2009 and 2015.

Jay Aston 57 who was a member of the group Bucks Fizz has had surgery to her mouth on 10th July to threat a cancerous growth on her tongue. Aston was a member of the British pop group which won the Eurovision song contest in 1981 for the entry ‘Making Up Your Mind’ which was also a chart topping song. She left the group in 1985.
