Dehiwala Mt. Lavinia Municipal Council support junior Tennis

Commissioner of the Dehiwala Mt. Lavinia Municipal Council Dammika Muthugala was the Chief Guest at the recently concluded “Cool Tennis” Tournament at Frazer Avenue Tennis Courts.
Cool Tennis is the Sri Lanka Tennis Association’s development programme for Under 10 age group. SLTA’s affiliated club century old Cosmopolitan Sports Club owns the franchise to the tournament.
Speaking at the Prize Giving The commissioner said that the premises will be developed to be one of the finest Tennis facilities in Sri Lanka.
All Trophies were sponsored by the Council.
Winners, the runners up with their parents and large number of tennis players we gathered at the Prize Giving where all participants were given certificates of participation. Winners and runners up were given Trophies and Certifies.
Even in the past the council have been part of community CSR’s of this nature. One such event was when Muthugala and his staff came up with a humanitarian effort extended support to areas like Bulathsinhala during the recent floods. Also the commissioner has taken proactive steps to arm the lifesaving unit at the Mt Lavinia beach, the favourite bathing spot after the development of sea currents as a result of reclamation of the sea.
