Yash Pieris and Tazneem Lukmanjee two promising swimmers of Asian International School have qualified to represent Sri Lanka in the 54th Milo/PRAN Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championship to be held in Malaysia.

At the selection trial for the event which was held at the Sugathadasa Swimming Complex recently Pieris won the Boys 1500m LC Free Style event with a time of 20:30.28mts and won the 400m LC Free Style event timing 5:14.82mts while Tazneem Lukmanjee emerged victorious in the Girls 50m LC Breast Stroke event with a time of 38.45secs and finished first runner-up in the 100m Breast Stroke event with a time of 1:26.71mts, booked their berths in the Sri Lankan squad.

A school which had produced outstanding swimmers who brought fame for the country internationally expects that these two talented swimmers to have a hand in keeping the Lion Flag fly high at the Swimming championship. - Lakshman Ranasinghe
