The 69th Republic Day of India was celebrated at the Indian High Commission in Colombo on Friday (26).

The High Commissioner and officials of the High Commission also paid their respects to the fallen soldiers of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF), at a solemn ceremony at the IPKF memorial in Colombo.

The Consular Generals of India in Jaffna and Hambantota and the Assistant High Commission of India in Kandy, also celebrated the 69th Republic Day by organising flag-hoisting ceremonies on Friday.

India celebrated its 69th Republic Day on a grand scale. Leaders from all 10 Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries were invited as chief guests for the Republic Day parade.
