The Grand Kandyan New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance, ‘Grand Welcome 2018’ will come alive at the Royal Peacock Grand Ballroom of Grand Kandyan Hotel in Kandy with the popular band ‘Kurumba’.

The Grand Kandyan New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance will be a fusion of the best classics, a night of entertainment along with prizes and surprises where revellers can usher in the New Year in a relaxed ambience. Popular singer Dushyanth Weeraman with his band ‘Kurumba’ will rock this year’s New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance at the Royal Peacock Ballroom, along with popular Entertainers Clifford Richards and Sureni de Mel.

Popular singer Dushyamanth Weeraman will join the fun with the band ‘Kurumba’ on this special New Year’s Night along with the DJ Entertainments.

The tickets are priced at Rs 6000/- per person including the gala scrumptious buffet dinner and the load of prizes, surprises and midnight fireworks display. The New Year’s Dance will kick out at 8.30pm on 31st December, 2017.

Kurumba, one of the hottest new entrants to the local music industry, has been stirring up quite a storm by winning the hearts of Sri Lankan music fans within an incredibly short span of time. Aptly named Kurumba, the band stands for its uniqueness and desire to be identified with its roots in Sri Lanka, even after venturing into the international arena, a goal the boys from Kurumba are working towards with utmost dedication.

A group of six young, energetic musicians led by none other than Dushyanth Weeraman and Devshan Perera, popular and creative artistes themselves, and backed by musicians with years of experience in the industry.

Devshan Perera is the son of veteran musician Melantha Perera of Mirage fame and the husband of popular songstress Umariya.

The blend of musicians from different backgrounds and interests have undoubtedly helped Kurumba create its own unique flavour that has contributed immensely towards capturing the hearts and ear buds of fans without limiting to a selective age category.

Kurumba covers music in both English and Sinhalese, across genres that vary from pop to funk, the golden oldies to the latest chart toppers.

The season at Grand Kandyan starts with ‘An evening of Christmas Carols’ on 21st December, a surefire way to sprinkle some holiday spirit into the season. The classic Christmas carols will be sung by the hotel staff to give that special Christmas feeling from 7.30pm onwards.

The Christmas Eve buffet at Royal Peacock Ballroom sets the tone for the season with a splendid family feast. The buffet includes an array of festive dishes comprising roasted Turkey, Roasted Ham and Lamb, traditional Christmas desserts and much more to tempt up the taste buds.

Christmas day lunch buffet at Tamarind Restaurant with traditional Christmas cuisines along with some exciting modern dishes specially prepared by the award winning kitchen brigade of the hotel.

Situated in the heart of the city of Kandy, the Grand Kandyan is the perfect haven for those with time to explore Kandyan warm hospitality and diverse cultures. Just 10 minutes from the ‘Dalada Maligawa’ and Kandy Main City shopping area.
