Ed Sheeran has scored yet another No: 1 with his song ‘Perfect’ on the UK singles chart. The track climbed two notches as it received a boost with a re-recording as a duet and styled a “Perfect Duet” with Beyonce which was released on 1st December. ‘Perfect’ is taken from Sheeran’s current album ‘÷’ (divide). The song has returned to the UK top since it first debuted in March with other hits by the ginger haired singer. At the time ‘Perfect’ peaked at 10. In October the song got its official release.

This week a combined 89,000 copies has secured Sheeran the No: 1 position thus giving him his fourth chart topper on home ground. The romantic balled the fifth single to roll off the ‘÷’ album is penned by the 26 year old singer who picked up his MBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace on 7th December. Sheeeran’s previous No: 1 songs are ‘Sing’, ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and ‘Shape Of You’. Meanwhile Sheeran released another duet version of ‘Perfect’ on 15th December featuring operatic tenor Andrea Bocelli aimed at older audiences and Christmas too.

Rak- Su, the group which won this year’s X-Factor stormed on to the UK top singles chart with their debut single ‘Dimelo’. The track featuring Wyclef Jean and Naughty Boy debuted straight at No: 2. They wrote the infectious track themselves and proceeds from sales is going to charity. The song is of Latin and hip hop genre. The four member boy group are from Watford are former classmates who had only months ago vowed never to take part in X- Factor. They are the first boy group to win the competition in the UK.

With Christmas around corner the modern yuletide classic ‘All I Want For Christmas’ by Mariah Carey had hit the UK top 10 rising from 22 to land at 5. Rated as the most played Christmas song of the decade in the UK by the Daily Telegraph, ‘All I Want For Christmas’ first charted on the UK chart in 1994 and it peaked at No: 2. It has sold over 1.2 million copies since its first release. The song also has taken Carey back to the top 10 for the first time since 2008 when ‘Touch My Body’ peaked at 5.

Another modern Yuletide classic ‘Last Christmas’ by Wham has made its way to the UK top 10 at 6, rising from 26. The late George Michael who died on December 25, 2016 tackles the vocals on the track as it appears on the UK top 10 for the fourth time since 1985. During the song’s original release it peaked at No: 2. In 1986 it peaked at 6 and in 2016 it peaked at 7. The song has sold over 2 million copies in the UK.

Camila Cabello is to release her debut album in January. The 20 year old singer who took to social media to announce that her self- titled album will be out on 12th January. She has also decided to drop the original title of the album ‘The Hurting, The Healing, The Winning’ after all. She has also decided to drop the single ‘Crying In The Club’ from the album. Cabello formerly of Fifth Harmony took the globe by storm with her song ‘Havana’.
