Lyceum Nugegoda clinch two Under-15 Basketball titles

The girls’ and boys’ teams Lyceum International School Nugegoda won the main titles at the Under-15 Inter-International Schools Basketball Tournament organised by Gateway College in Colombo.

The girls’ team emerged champions out of 12 international schools as they overcame Lyceum International School Wattala in the final. In the final, Lyceum Wattala was the adversary of the Nugegoda team as they rallied around as a team to clinch the title with a score of 40 to 28.

In the boys’ category Lyceum, Nugegoda became the champs out of 15 international schools. In a somewhat similar affair as the girls’ final, the Lyceum Nugegoda boys beat Lyceum Wattala in the boys’ final. The match went head on with points closing up challenging each other. At the final whistle, Lyceum Nugegoda won the game, 46 to 42.

Members of the two winning outfits, Chenuli Galallge and Sanjaan Gunaratne were adjudged the Most Valuable Players while Nuyara Ratnayake and Ahad Rasheed were the Best Offensive Players in the girls’ and the boys’ categories respectively.
