NCW Holdings, a facility management company who are experts in building, construction and hospitality design concepts established in Australia in 2015, has entered Sri Lanka with an investment of AUS$ 200,000.

Naveen Wijewickrama, Managing Director of the company, speaking to the Business Times on the sidelines of the launch of the company in Colombo last week, said:

“Being a Sri Lankan and starting my first business in Australia from scratch gave me the boost to start operations in Sri Lanka in my home country. NCW Holdings in Australia is a AUS$5 million worth company today. We invested AUS$ 200,000 in Sri Lanka to kick off operations here.”

Mr. Wijewickrama added that facility management is not cheap business. It’s one of the expensive sectors in Australia. “You cannot compare what facility management companies do in Australia to that of what is done in Sri Lanka.

Our services cater to the high end calibre of boutique type up-markets,” he noted.

He also mentioned that there are around 25 staff members working at the Sri Lankan office while all of them are trained with the equipment manufactured in Australia and imported to Sri Lanka. “Our clients are those who would go for good quality high standard service. We are negotiating our contracts with many 5-star hotels in the country to implement our services,” he stated.

In terms of facility management the company provides services such as commercial property cleaning, carpet steam cleaning, window cleaning, pressure wash, graffiti removals, environmental services, waste handling, hygiene services, and pest control and so on.

General building maintenance includes plumbing, electrical, painting, air conditioning and refrigeration and glass replacement. The company also provides hospitality consultancy services. NCW Holdings offers concept development and project management, product development, operational assessments and financial resolutions and advertising and promotions.

“We have been in Sri Lanka for the last three months and have started initially with facility management,” noted Mr. Wijewickrama.
