Windies Cricket Academy Matale to the fore

The Under (U)-14 Inter-Cricket Academy Limited Overs Cricket tournament organised and conducted by the Windies Cricket Academy Matale with Ranwan Home Appliances (Pvt) Ltd Matale and Supreme Advertising (Pvt) Ltd Matale as joint sponsors, will get under way at S. Thomas’ College grounds Matale on September 9-10 starting at 8 am each day.
The 2-day tournament played for the Windies CA trophy will see teams from Royal Kings CA Piliyandala, Kandy City and Windies CA Matale in contention.
At a press briefing held last Sunday at the Windies CA Matale, the head of the Academy, Ravi Punchihewa said all matches in the tournament are limited to 10 overs a side, and will be played on a League format, with the top 4 teams entering the semifinals.
The special awards on offer are for Best Batsman, Bowler, Fielder, Player of the Tournament and Emerging Player of the Tournament.
