A GEM BUSINESS IN THE OFFING?

View(s):

The popular house for a sport in the island is said to be bankrupt but for the current year, yet, the profits amount to 101 Million! There is also the talk that the Big Boss of this sport is now planning to give the bottom floor of this building to start a gem business. This is unofficial and it also rumoured that all this is OK unofficially.

INSPECTING THE PITCH

Immediately after a game in Dambulla which the local side lost, the Big Man in Sports had gone to inspect the pitch. There were peals of laughter as the Big Boss apparently knows nothing about pitches! The coach had sat on the ground when the Big Man sat on a chair as if to massage the Big Man’s feet. The opposing team members had taken pictures of this and had circulated them amongst the press, much to the displeasure of the home team.

SHADY BACKGROUND

Still on the same sport, an official who is working on the WEB had tried to assault a top man in the sport and the person had reported the incident to a top official. This man has a shady background as he had tried earlier to rent out vehicles belonging to the management without the knowledge of the governing body.

CLUELESS

A top level meeting, where ladies are conversant with, had taken place in Polonnaruwa where a Sports Festival had taken place. But the person who had attended the meeting, who has apparently no clue to such things, had attended the meeting. This official has the habit of attending to such events, even overseas even though he has no inclination of the things that are taking place at these meetings.

ELECTROCUTED

It looks as if this sports body is in a bad condition. Recently at a meeting held in Baddegana, an official who had tried to connect a loose electrical fitting had been electrocuted. He is now at the Kalubowlila Hospital as the sports body has no funds to put him into a private hospital, as the insurances have not been paid.

ONLY ONE PERSON!

It looks as if there is only one official dealing with Olympics in the island these days. Recently at a meeting of the parent body held abroad, the officials there had wanted to know whether there is only one person who is involved in Olympics in the country!
