Kandy beat Colombo in all Gateway Netball Final
View(s):Gateway College Kandy beat Gateway College Colombo in the Under-13 Inter-International Schools Netball Championship played at the netball courts of the Ministry of Sports in Colombo. In the group matches, Gateway Kandy beat Asian International School 4-0 but lost to Lyceum Wattala 2-3. In the quarter-final Gateway Kandy beat the British School of Colombo 4-1 and in the semi-final they beat Lyceum Panadura 3-1. They maintained the momentum to beat Gateway Colombo by 2-1 in the final.
Gateway Colombo in their group matches, drew with OKI International 2-2 and beat Lyceum Nugegoda 4-1. At the quarter-final, they beat Colombo International School 3-1. At the Semis, Gateway Colombo beat Lyceum Wattala 4-3.Adhla Lafir of Gateway Kandy was named the Netball Queen of the Tournament and her team mate Binuri Rajapaksha received the award for being the Best Shooter of the tournament. Nishenya Fernando of Gateway Colombo was named the Best Defensive Player. The tournament was organised by Leighton Park International School. - NA
