A tribute song to the late George Michael is to be released by former Spice Girl, Geri Horner. ‘Angels In chains’ will be released next Friday, 23rd June, two days ahead of what would have been George Michael’s 53rd birthday. Horner who was better known as Geri Halliwell as a member of the now defunct Spice Girls was very close to Michael.

She has worked on the song with one of Michael’s back up singer’s Shirley Lewis and producer Chris Porter. Proceeds from the single will go to one Michael’s favourite charities Childline. George Michael died on 25th December 2016.

Pop singer Katy Perry turned her life into a reality show for 72 hours. The 32 year old US artist took to YouTube on 9th June by taking the very unusual step by streaming her life for 72 hours to mark the release of her new album ‘Witness’ on the same day.

Phil Collins who was hurt in fall has resumed tour in Cologne, Germany on 11th June. Collins was forced to cancel two shows in London on 8th and 9th June after he slipped in his hotel room toilet on 7th June. Reports say he required stitches near his eye.

Collins was also kept in hospital for 24 hours for observation. The singer songwriter suffers from “drop foot” following a back operation, walks with the aid of a walking stick and sits throughout his shows. Collins will perform in London at end of this month while his postponed London shows are expected to be rescheduled for November.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee with Justin Bieber continue to dominate the top of the UK singles chart. For a fifth week the combined artist hit ‘Despacito’ remains locked at the No: 1 spot on the UK chart. It gained 8.8 million streams in the lead up to the current count down.

The Ariana Grande song ‘One Last Moment’ took the battle for the battle to the No: 1 spot. The song which at No: 12 last week crossed on to over to the top rising to No: 2, short of toppling ‘Despacito’.

The popularity of ‘One Last Moment’ has been huge following the Manchester bombing and subsequently with Grande’s charity concert in the city.

Geri Horner

This song first peaked in No: 24 in 2014, but now it is tagged as One Love Manchester with streams of 2.9 million. Meanwhile she has also released her rendition of ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ from charity concert.

Niall Horan’s second solo single ‘Slow Hand’ has reached the UK singles top 10. The bass heavy mid tempo track climbed from 21 to reach the No: 7 spot. Horan and five others co-penned the track which is produced by Julian Bunetta.

Horan performed ‘Slow hand’ at the One Manchester charity concert on June 4.
