An incredible bowling performance of 10 for 3 by left arm pacie Kalana Perera which is record in the history of Under 17 inter-schools cricket paved the way for S. Thomas’ to outclass the hapless S de S. Jayasinghe MMV Dehiwala by nine wickets in a first round match of the match of the Under 17 Division One cricket tournament played at Mt Lavinia.

The match lasted just 12.4 overs with Kalana’s impressive feat achieved in just 4.4 overs that included two maidens sending their opponents reeling to 27 runs in an innings lasting 8.4 overs and then the Thomians in their run chase racing to  the target in only four overs.

Wesley recording wins over Lumbini MV and St Joseph’s to maintain their unbeaten record while St Joseph Vaz got the better of Wickrmasheela National School to record their fourth successive win.

In the other matches that were played Royal Colombo, Richmond, Nalanda, Mahanama Panadura, St Xavier’s Marawila, St Joseph’s, Devapathiraja MMV Rathgama, Thurstan, Zahira and Sri Sumangala Panadura recorded wins.
