A 28 member team has been picked for the Sixth Commonwealth Youth Games to be held in the Bahamas from July 16 to 23. The team has been approved by the Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera.

The National Olympic Committee has released the team. The disciplines are Athletics, Rugby Sevens, Boxing, Judo, Swimming and Tennis.

The contingent will comprise 20 boys and eight girls. The names of the officials have not been released as yet.

  •  Athletics: Boys – Promod Madubashana Perera, Navodya Sankalpaya, Sheshan Dilusha Kariyawasam. Girls – Kavinda Thathsarani, Sachini Devyanjali, Sanduni Chaviprabha Bandara.
  •  Swimming: Boys – Dimuth Akalanka Peiris and Kyle Abeysinghe. Girls – Avanthi Dewmini Perera, Vinoli Nelinya Kaluarachchi.
  •  Boxing:Boys – Kavinda Sanjaya Bandara. Girls – Madumala Eranga Priyadarshini.
  •  Judo: Boys – Soorya Thushara. Girls – Hafsa Yamina.
  •  Tennis: Boys – Vibudha Indeepa Wijebandara. Girls – Anitha Seneviratne.
  •  Rugby Sevens: Boys – Thariksha Dulanjala Piyatissa, Christian Fredrick, Gemunu Chetiya Kumarasinghe, Ishara Dimuth Liyanage, Jonathan Weerakone, Mohammed Shabir Iqbal, Nadeesha Chaminda Vithanage, Navindra Thanuj Rajaratnam, Ravin Peshal Fernando, Tharindu Anuruddha De Alwis, Tuan Daiyan Sabar and Vishwa Supeshka Ranaraj.  - SP
