Puttalam, Jaffna, Colombo record massive wins
The second round matches of the Inter-District limited over tournament saw Puttalam, Jaffna and Colombo District record massive wins over Kurunegala, Vavuniya and Gampaha District in the matches played at the FTZ Katunayake, Colts and CCC grounds.
Puttalam District helped by half tons from Sachithra Serasinghe, Shehan Jayasuriya and Thikshila de Silva made a formidable score of 335 and later left arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara who ended with a four wickets along with Arosh Janoda and Asitha Fernando combined to bowl out Kurunegala District for 156 to guide them to a 179 runs.
A knock of 101 by Tharanga Paranavithana and supported by half tons from Harith Maduwantha and Sithara Gimhan laid the foundations for Jaffna District to outclass Vavuniya District by 162 runs.
Colombo District made mince meat of Gampaha District when they cruised through to a mammoth 230 runs win victory. Colombo District batting first ended their innings making a score of 278 for 6 and then Dilshan Munaweera and Sachith Pathirana wrecked the Gampaha batting as the duo sent them reeling to just 48 runs.
In the other two matches saw Ampara District overcome Trincomalee District by four wickets at BRC ground and Kandy District coasting to a convincing nine wicket win over Matale District at Welisara
