Popular Hong Kong based Sri Lankan band ‘Proteus’ will be in action at the ‘Curve Tapas Bar’ at Park Street MEWS till March 11th.

Curve Tapas Bar, a well-known place for excellent live music, features ‘Proteus’ weekly led by legendary Sri Lankan musicians Dylan Lye, Hassan Musafer, along with Adonis D Jesus and none other than Umara Rifky on vocals, returning to Curve after almost one year.

The band started performing at Curve Tapas Bar from February 15th and will continue till 11th March on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Proteus – band has an exciting line up of musical talent with Dylan Lye,   guitarist who plays bass as well as lead and well known with the jazz aficionados of Sri Lanka, along with Drummer Hassan Musafer (both of Legendary Jetliners fame).

Dylan has absorbed the talents of Howard Roberts, George Benson, Nathan East and Marcus Miller and also chips in with vocals. Adonis d Jesus is an extraordinary keyboardist, a great musician/composer and handles all the musical arrangements. A lady with a golden voice Umara Rifky (Sinhawansa) is the lead singer of the band and rated as one of the top female vocalists Sri Lanka has produced in recent times. She has performed at most of the leading hotels in Hong Kong has won many international music awards in Europe and Asia.

PROTEUS has enjoyed years of success with  tremendous musical excellence in Hong Kong  and  performs popular hits from the 60s till today’s current chart toppers along with  jazz, Latin, R&B and mood music for all music lovers listening pleasure. They have had performed at exclusive membership clubs, corporate and celebrity events in addition to overseas gigs in Singapore, Macau and China in star class hotels.
