Asanga Ranasinghe appointed to LAUGFS Boards
View(s):LAUGFS Holdings this week announced the appointment of Asanga Ranasinghe to the boards of LAUGFS Holdings and LAUGFS Gas PLC as Executive Director. He has also been appointed as the Sector Managing Director of the Consumer and Retail cluster of LAUGFS Holdings, and further holds the position of the Group Marketing Director, the company said in a media announcement.
“With our aggressive expansion plans to further strengthen our business presence in Sri Lanka and within the region, we believe Asanga will contribute tremendously to provide the necessary leadership to make LAUGFS a trusted multinational conglomerate across the region,” said LAUGFS Holdings Chairman, W.K.H.Wegapitiya, adding: “He brings in a great mix of business acumen, leadership, technical knowledge and operational expertise.”
Mr. Ranasinghe joins LAUGFS from Brandix, where he served in the capacity of Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, he was spearheading the marketing operations of Unilever Pakistan as Vice President. During his tenure of over 20 years at Unilever, Asanga has held leadership roles in a number of countries including that of Customer Development Director for Sri Lanka and Maldives, as well as Marketing Director of Unilever Sri Lanka. He has also served as a Statutory Director of the Unilever Sri Lanka Board. He is the current Honorary President of CIM Sri Lanka.
