The Dialog Champions League Super Eight Round, which was suspended for four months, will re-commence on January 6, 2017. This has been decided by the Sri Lanka Football Federation.

The leading eight teams in the Dialog Champion’s League will take part in this tournament. They are: Blue Star SC Kalutara, Renown SC Colombo, Solid SC Anuradhapura, New Youngs SC Wennappuwa, Colombo FC, Air Force SC, Army SC and Navy SC.

All matches will be at the Kelaniya Sports Complex. The first match on January 6 is between Blue Star SC and Air Force SC. On January 7 Colombo FC will face Solid SC. On January 8, Renown SC will be up against New Youngs. On January 9 Army SC will clash with Navy SC.

The Super Eight Round will conclude on February 25 and 26. Prior to that there will be two matches at the Duraiappa Stadium, Jaffna on February 11 and 12.

The tournament came to a halt after the first stage as the Sri Lanka team proceeded to Cambodia for an international friendly game. In the first week of November 2016, the Sri Lanka team went to Malaysia to take part in the AFC Solidarity Cup Tournament.

Matches were scheduled to be played from the first week of December but due to heavy rain the matches were postponed.
