Kandy Municipal Council Overall Champions

Kandy Municipal Council (KMC) were Overall Champions at the State Services Table Tennis (TT) Championship held at the Methodist Girls’ High School, Point Pedro, last week.
TT Associations islandwide are conducting their championship tournaments in the Provinces to popularise the game and to unearth outstation talent. Earlier, the All-Island Unranked/Novices (Boys & Girls) TT Championship was held in the same venue with islandwide participation.
The KMC paddlers stole the limelight, winning the Men’s ‘A’ Division and placed runners-up in the Men’s ‘B’ Division. In the individual age group events M.P.B. Dissanayake, S.P.G. Vithanage and S.M. Safeer won the championship in Men’s 31-35 years, 41-45 years and 55-60 years age groups respectively, while Manoj Dissanayake-S.P.G. Vithanage, Ajith Priyantha-J. Arnold and Sunil Abeygunasekera-Sisira Bandara won the Men’s Doubles 30-40 years, 40-50 years and 50-60 years age groups.
