Sri Lanka Navy stole the limelight in the senior category while S Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia took the major honours of the junior division at the Sri Lanka Sailing Nationals worked off at the picturesque Bolgoda Lake in Indibedda, Moratuwa.

This year’s sailing nationals organised by the national body for sailing sport in Sri Lanka, the Yachting Association of Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Ceylon Motor Yacht Club on a grand scale with the sponsorship of Crescent Global South Asian (Pvt) Limited.

It was a fantastic event with all four categories of sailing boats on the water.

Sri Lanka Navy sailors won the most of the trophies in senior events while Thomian sailors grabbed the junior event prizes.

On the invitation of Joseph Kenny, President Yachting Association of Sri Lanka, the Director of Sports Saman Bandara gave away the trophies.

Crescent Global South Asian (Pvt) Limited Managing Director Indrajith Fernando, Vice Commodore of the Ceylon Motor Yacht Club Duncan Fraser graced the occasion.

GP 14 Class: Winners WAR Nishantha and NGMU Gunawardene of Sri Lanka Navy.

Enterprise Class: Winners JMPL Jayasuriya and ASK Soyza of Sri Lanka Navy.

Laser Standard Class: Winner UD Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka Navy

Laser Radial Class: Winner PNPK Dissanayake of Sri Lanka Navy

Laser 4.7 Class: Winner Rehan de Silva of S. Thomas’ College

Optimist Class: Winner Jehan de Silva S. Thomas’ College
