A musical based on the life of the iconic singer Tina Turner is to take shape and will be staged in London’s West End sometime in 2018. The man behind the project is Joop Van den Ende of Stage Entertainment, widely regarded as Europe’s biggest live entertainment company. Reports suggest Ende; a Dutchman had been seeking Tina Turner’s approval for the musical for several years, but that she only agreed recently. Turner was part of the husband and wife duo Ike & Turner. They later split up owing to Ike’s constant abuse of Tina. In the early 1980’s Tina went on to become a very successful solo artist, winning many awards. She is best known for the hit songs ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ and ‘We Don’t Need Another Hero’. The 77 year old singer retired in 2009 and now resides in Switzerland with her husband Erwin Bach.

Pop singer Selena Gomez is back making music in the recording studio after a break from the scene. The 24 year old pulled the plug on her world tour in August in order to rest and remerged at the American Music Awards in November. Gomez posted a picture with songwriter Justin Tranter on social media, thus indicating her return to the studio for what will be her third album. Her last album ‘Revival’ came out in 2015.
