Getting to Neverland has never been easier.  Join St. Joseph’s College, in collaboration with Cold Theatre 7 featuring St. Bridget’s Convent as they fly in to December with Peter Pan-the Musical.

At the helm of the production is Director Kevin Cruze of Cold Theatre 7. An old Josephian himself, Cruze has a number of productions under his belt with Cold Theatre such as “ ‘Lankawe Twins Kalabala” and “And Then There Were None”. Kevin’s repetoire as director also consists of several school productions for the Annual Shakespaere Drama Competition with his alma mater such as last year’s winning take on King Lear and recently with Wesley College as director of their winning rendition of Juilus Ceasar. Kevin is joined by fellow old boy Geethika Cooray as music director.

Peter Pan comes as a re awakening for the young Josephians who last took the stage for a musical thirteen years ago. Leaning heavily toward more serious theatre, the musical has allowed Kevin to try his hand at lighter material while giving the budding actors and actresses an oppurtunity to re-enact of the most iconic children’s stories of all time.

Although the tale of the ‘boy who never grew up’ has little to do with Christmas,  the story’s celebration of magic and the joy of childhood encapsualtes the essence of the Christmas spirit, Kevin feels. with J.M. Barrie’s brood of beloved character such as the lost boys, Captain Hook and the Darling fmaily, the play is set to the music of Mark “Moose” Charlap and Jule Styne is sure to stike a chord with audiences of all ages.
