Nestled within the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka, spread amidst a lush expanse of nature with a great view of the Sigiriya rock, Water Garden Sigiriya offers a luxurious break from everyday life.

Water Garden Sigiriya is the latest addition to the country’s boutique hotel landscape. With 30 luxury villas dotted over 35 acres, Water Garden Sigiriya provides a tranquil atmosphere that blends perfectly with its surroundings. It is a perfect base to discover and explore the area’s many historical attractions.

Designed by well known architect Channa Daswatte, drawing inspiration from the irrigation systems and designs of the original Sigiriya water gardens done during the period of king Kasyapa, the hotel reception building looks on to a driveway leading on to the villas. From the hand crafted tortoise lampshades, to the picturesque view of the Sigiriya rock, attention to detail runs through every facet of the hotel.

A ride on one of the hotel’s golf carts which are used to transport the guests is a fun way to discover the beauty of the hotel built in union with nature. The hotel has a rather large man made water body in which guests may enjoy a soothing kayak ride.

Guests have a choice of either a duplex, deluxe villa or a villa each furnished with refinement. The duplex villa is two storeyed while the villas are a one storey building, each built on an acre of land. The large rooms are designed to give guests an escape into the lap of luxury hand in hand with nature. Each villa has its own sitting area with satellite television inclusive of mini bar, Wi-Fi access and comfortable couches. Paintings by artist Anup Vega add to the local ambience.

One may take a dip in the private plunge pool that looks on to paddy fields and lush vegetation. Every villa comes with 24-hour butler service that caters to your every need and guests may enjoy the splendour of the sunset or sunrise from the comfort of their private pool.

Overlooking the pool, the restaurant blends locality with innovation. The most eye-catching aspect of the restaurant is its custom-made chandelier, created by one of Sri Lanka’s leading sculptors, that spreads across the ceiling of the building.

The hotel serves both local and international cuisine and offers both restaurant and location dining facilities accommodating any and all requests. From buttered gridle cakes and freshly made muffins to homemade passion fruit marmalade the culinary experience you will go through at Water Garden Sigiriya is truly personalised.

One of the best features of the hotel is its local menu. The hotel serves dishes unheard of to even the most stubborn Sri Lankan enthusiast. The chef utilises local vegetables and herbs and his own twist on traditional Sri Lankan classics makes every dish seem like the first time you taste it.

One of the hotels most distinct features is its spa. The Sigiriya Water Garden spa fuses natural Sri Lankan ingredients with the most modern techniques of holistic treatment. The Balinese massage therapists are trained in a variety of disciplines. The hotel also offers guided safari tours, nature walks, yoga therapy and cycling. An archery range will also be added soon. Upon request the hotel also provides tours to Sigiriya, Pidurangala, Anuradhapura and even Kandy.
