Children’s Day -Saturday October 1 will be celebrated by the Cora Abraham Art School with an exhibition titled, ‘The Artist in Every Child’ at the J. D. A. Perera Gallery, 46, Horton Place, Colombo 7.

The exhibition true to the vision of Cora Abraham will feature the creative work of the school’s young students as they present through free expression their view of the world in and around them. The works on display have been done in a number of media and includes drawings in pencil, ink and charcoal; paintings in acrylic, tempera and fabric paints as well as work on glass using glass paints and sculpture in clay, wire mesh and work using the potter’s wheel. Also on display will be work of mixed media, collages and 3D murals.

A special feature of the school’s exhibitions is the “festival corner” where the students present their views of the different religious festivals of this country in a myriad of bright and vibrant colours. The exhibition is open on Sunday, October 2 as well.
