Sri Lanka Telecom ahead at Mercantile Athletic Meet

Sri Lanka Telecom was in the lead on the second day of the 33rd Mercantile Athletic Championships at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex in Diyagama yesterday.

Today is the final day of the competition. Over 60 companies are taking part in the contest featuring nearly 1,500 athletes.

A feature of the meet is that all former national players in all sports are taking part in the meet.

Sri Lanka Telecom are the defending champions. In second place are MAS Holdings. At present Air Port and Aviation are in third position.

According to today’s results the final placings could change.

As at yesterday 24 mercantile records were shattered. The first day saw 12 records being lowered. On the second day too 12 records were lowered.

An Indian mercantile team is also taking part in the meet.
