Steering Committee of Constitutional Assembly welcomes representations from parties

The Steering Committee of the Constitutional Assembly has decided to give an opportunity to societies / associations and political parties which have not made representations to the Public Representations Committee (PRC) to make such written representations to the Steering Committee.

Written representations should be sent separately under the following headings – (1) Nature of the State, Sovereignty, Religion, Form of Government; (2) Electoral Reforms; (3) Principles of Devolution; (4) Land; (5) Fundamental Rights (Fundamental rights, language rights, directive principles of State Policy, citizenship); (6) Judiciary (Judiciary, Courts structure, judicial review, jurisdiction of courts including the fundamental rights jurisdiction, Constitutional Court); (7) Finance (Public Finance, Provincial Finance, Public Enterprises, Central Bank); (8) Law and Order (Law and Order, Public Security, Emergency); (9) Public Service (Public Service, Public Service Commission, Provincial Public Service, Local Government Service, Independent Commissions including Human Rights Commission, Ombudsman); (10) Centre-Periphery Relations (Relationship between the Centre and Provincial Councils, Local Authorities, Provincial Executive, Competencies of the Centre, Provinces and Local Authorities, Administrative Structure (District Secretaries, Divisional Secretaries).

Submissions on each of the ten topics listed here should be sent as separate documents with the topic clearly indicated on the first page of the document.
