Minister Dilan Perera and Major General Boniface Perera have informed the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation that they would like to step down from the current positions they are holding in the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation.

Dilan Perera, has quit his post as National organizer and Boniface Perera is to step down from his post as the Vice President.

This information was released to the Sunday Times by the A.S. Nalaka, Secretary of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation.

According to prevailing volleyball regulations those who do not attend meetings on three successive occasions will have to be kept out from the body.

When steps were to be taken on their absentees, the two have decided to step down. Both Dilan Perera and Maj. Gen. Boniface Perera have informed the Volleyball Federation that they have decided to quit their posts due to pressure of work.

There have been several absentees other than Dilan Perera and Boniface Perera from volleyball meetings. Decisions regarding their presence at meetings are to be taken at the next annual general meeting in June, whether to keep them out and to make new appointments.

The first event of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation – the DSI Supersports All Island Schools Volleyball Tournament, conducted on an age basis, commenced yesterday with 3,385 teams taking part.
