25 teams in Merc ‘F’ division Cricket
View(s):The MCA Division ‘F’ 25-over League Tournament 2016 will get underway this weekend with a card of 12 matches. The following 36 teams pooled into six groups will participate in the tournament:
Group ‘A’: Copal Amber, EB Creasey, Fairway Holdings, Lion Brewery, MAC Holdings and MAS Active ‘C’
Group ‘B’: Arpico SC, D. Samson & Sons, Hayleys Group ‘B’, Heshan Flex, Hirdaramani Group and Interpharm (Pvt) Ltd.
Group ‘C’: Akbar Bros., Alliansz Insurance, Barthi Airtel , HNB ‘C’ RR Donnerlly and South Asia Gateway Terminal.
Group ‘D’: CIC, HSBC ‘C’, Janashakthi Insurance, Orel Corporation, Technomedics International and Tinpack
Group ‘E’: Nippon Paint, Asia Capital, CMA-CGM, MJF Group, United Tractor & Equipment and Trade Finance & Investment.
Group ‘F’: Sri Lanka Telecom, Union Bank, Brandix Essentials ‘B’, MBSL Insurance, Access Group and Coats Thread Lanka.
Fairway Holdings, CMA-CGM and Trade Finance & Investment will be making their first appearance at MCA Cricket. The tournament will be staged in two stages – The league consisting 90 half day matches, followed by the Knock-out, consisting 15 matches. The 90 league matches will be played at MCA, Veyangoda Central, Wesley College, Army Mattegoda, St. Benedict’s College Kotahena, St. John’s Panadura, Health, Castle Street and NSCA Ratmalana, to be completed on 12th June 2016. Vallibal Finance, PLC won the division last season, beating Lankem Ceylon by 83 runs. – LR
